Broad aim of event:
This 2 day course aims to
ensure that the individual practitioners realise that
each test they perform is of equal importance and
reflects the best effort (in terms of co-operation) that
the client can achieve. It is just as important that
the practitioner appreciates the need for calibration,
quality control and cleaning (without these results are
unreliable and inaccurate), is also able to recognise
and correct faults in their own and colleagues
techniques.
Learning Outcomes:
- Understand the use of Spirometry in the
workplace
- Be aware of the need to standardise procedures
- Appreciates how disease can effect results
- Have sufficient knowledge of the principles of
measurement and physiology to be able to explain the
test and the results to lay people correctly
- Keep and maintain quality control records
- Be competent and confident practitioners
- Feel motivated to maintain the highest possible
professional standards.
